Frascole Chianti Rufina Riserva

The best fruit (95% sangiovese, 5% colorino) is selected from south, south-west vineyards, at an altitude of 400 meters (about 1300 feet). Vines are from 17 – 50 years old. Grapes are harvested by hand, usually around the 10th of October, brought back to the farm where they are de-stemmed and gently pressed. The must remains in contact with the skins for 18 days, then transferred to French barriques for a year, then moved to concrete vats for 3-4 months before bottling, where it remains in bottle an additional year for further refinement. Awarded with the Snail by Slow Wine for 2018.
